Jorge Castro was born in the city of Asunción, Paraguay on March 9, 1959. He began his career in his native country where he obtained first place in the singing contest “Busca la Voz” on Channel 9 TV CERRO CORA (SNT) in the year 1982. The award consisted of a contract as a guest artist on said channel.  Months later he signed a contract with a European representative in order to perform throughout the old continent and continue with his musical studies, starting a fantastic international career.

 

The tenor JORGE CASTRO, took music, theory, music theory and singing classes in Spain, then in France and finished his studies in Holland.  He also took masters classes in singing in Italy and the United States.  He also has the following languages: GUARANI, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, ITALIAN, FRENCH, ENGLISH, CATALAN, GERMAN AND DUTCH.

 

Since the nineties he has been recognized as "the 4th tenor" by the European Press, taking in 1991 a great step in his career by winning the singing contest The SoundMix Show on the RTL4 channel of Dutch television with an unforgettable imitation of Luciano Pavarotti interpreting the Caruso theme.  This contest would last one year with more than 2,500 participants in different musical genres.

 

In 2003, he was declared a Favorite Son of the City of Asunción by the then Mayor, Doctor Enrique Riera Escudero.

 

Within the artistic materials of the tenor JORGE CASTRO there are more than FIFTEEN CDs recorded.  Among these, in 2004, he recorded a repertoire of previously unreleased songs in Italian and Spanish at the iconic Studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios in London where they recorded music icons such as the Rolling Stones and The Beatles.  This material was made with the participation of the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the Dutch maestro Harry Van Hoof, director of the Eurovision Song Festival for 25 years.  Likewise, it also has EIGHT DVD's, all these recorded live with a large orchestra, ballet choir and special guests in different countries of the world.  -

 

 In 2006 he released his album Emotions and in 2007 his first CD / DVD “Jorge Castro & Friends 1” recorded live in concert with a large orchestra, choir and ballet at the Spant Theater in Bussum, Holland.

 

 In 2008 he presents his second CD / DVD “Jorge Castro & Friends 2”, also recorded live in concert from the Show Studio 21 theater in Hilversum, Holland.

 

On January 29, 2009 he inaugurated with a great Concert for the South American Soccer Confederation (CONMEBOL) the Museum of South American Soccer and the Convention Center, where Jorge Castro was the main protagonist.  Accompanied by an orchestra of 110 musicians, choir, ballet and special guests.  The release of this material in CD-DVD format took place in 2010 as a promotion at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

 

In the same year 2009 he gave a concert in tribute to Paraguayan music, an event in which he presented his album "Mi Patria Soñada" with a distinctly Paraguayan repertoire.  This CD was distributed by the newspaper ABC Color.

 

 On November 30, 2010 he presented his CD SERENATA MEXICANA in a massive concert with a large orchestra, choir, ballet and special guests at the GRAN TEATRO JOSE ASUNCION FLORES DEL BANCO CENTRAL DEL PARAGUAY, an event called SERENATA MEXICANA.

 

 In March 2011 he presented in Europe a new audio-visual material from his concert at the Operahous Teatrul Odeon in Bucharest Romania in early 2011.

 

 On May 5, 2011 he presented the most massive GALA CONCERT of all the events for the celebrations of the BICENTENARIO DEL PARAGUAY, with a fabulous symphonic orchestra, choir, a great ballet and special guests.  The tenor JORGE CASTRO arrived on stage mounted on a slender white horse, escorted by more than fifty riders of the Paraguayan mounted police.  For this opportunity, TENOR JORGE CASTRO composed the HYMN TO THE BICENTENNIAL subject massively disseminated by all the country's media.

 

        From this great historical event, a CD and a DVD were recorded with the most advanced HD digital technique in the world.

 

 The tenor JORGE CASTRO is engaged in his project MI PATRIA SOÑADA, which began on June 20, 2013 in order to promote patriotism, Paraguayan identity, and the dignity of the Paraguayan people.  With this project, the tenor JORGE CASTRO is scheduled to reach all schools, colleges, and all kinds of educational institutions to give away the audio-visual material recorded in the BICENTENARIO GALA CONCERT and thus instill in young children to sing. the patriotic epic music as well as the Paraguayan national anthem.  Likewise, Tenor JORGE CASTRO carries out a radio program from Monday to Friday on RADIO NACIONAL DEL PARAGUAY, 95.1 FM called MI PATRIA SOÑADA in order to promote and sustain the aforementioned project.

 

 In 2013 and 2014 he hosted a TELEVISION program called MUSICA Y DEPORTES by RED GUARANI, in order to promote the MI PATRIA SOÑADA Project.

 

 On May 1, 2014 CORREOS PARAGUAYO honored TENOR JORGE CASTRO with a collectible stamp.

 

 In February 2014 he presented his CD BOLEROS INOLVIDABLES in a concert held at the IGNACIO A. PANE DE ASUNCION MUNICIPAL THEATER, an event called SERENATA AL AMOR.

 

 On March 24, 2015 he presented A GREAT GALA CONCERT in TRIBUTE TO THE 400 YEARS OF THE CITY OF ENCARNACION, in this event he had a cast of more than five hundred people;  with a massive attendance of the national and international public around 45,000 people.  For this opportunity, TENOR JORGE CASTRO composed two songs in tribute to the 400 years of the city of Encarnación, called "PERLA DEL SUR" AND "CONGRATULATIONS ENCARNACION"

 

 In July 2015 he composed in TRIBUTE to the coming of the POPE the song "WELCOME PAPA FRANCISCO" recorded with a large choir of boys from Colegio San José, as well as recorded a VIDEO CLIP of the same theme, broadcast by the local media.

 

 In October 2015 he inaugurated with A GREAT GALA CONCERT the LAKE AMPHITHEATER OF THE REPUBLIC OF CIUDAD DEL ESTE.

 

 In May 2016 she sang at the COLON THEATER in the city of Buenos Aires, in a concert called AMBAJADORES where twelve most renowned artists from South America participated, including Valeria LInch, Paula Fernández, Daniela Mercury, Raúl Lavie, Rubén Rada , Axel, Luciano Pereira and others.

 

 On December 6, 2016 he presents for four consecutive years the CONCERT DENOMINATED "SING CHRISTMAS" with a great Symphony Orchestra and special guests. both the event and the theme composed in a Christmas classic.

 

 In February 2017 he presented his album, BOLEROS INOLVIDABLE 2

 

 In April 2017 he received the honorary title of, DR.  HONORIS CAUSA awarded by the UNIDA UNIVERSITY OF THE INTEGRATION OF THE AMERICAS.

 

 This is a summary of a long and successful career that corresponds to an artist with an admirable career and a bright future.
